Nordic Scholars facing the Changes of the Modern World
The Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Gdańsk is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. On this special occasion, the institution organized an international conference on November 21 and 22, 2025. Faculty members from our department—Soós Anita, Vaskó Ildikó, Olav Helle, Szilágyi Orsolya, Csúr Gábor—along with Gábor Reichert from the Department of Modern Hungarian Literature, also participated. Their presentations focused on the Hungarian translation and adaptation of Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking books, the language use in Norwegian comics, the application of artificial intelligence in language teaching, and the reception of László Krasznahorkai in Scandinavia.
